337 - Lodi 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon - Central Valley CA

Twelve buckaroos or so at Whole Foods. Bold, brisk label with hints of crimson on chocolate. Excellent font, makes a statement with its simplicity. Cork comes out fairly easily, not too much vaccuum.

When we opened it, it was too bright, but it mellowed after it got some air. We had it with pizza, though it would have been better with lamb, we think. Wine itself is tangy. Errs on the acidic side. What do we taste: strawberries, plums? Pomegranete? Good finish and a nice clean taste left in the mouth. Good home table wine, but not quite good enough or bad enough to bring proudly to a dinner party. This is Bourgeoisie wine.
RATING: THREE CORKS
